Qatar, Afghanistan discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation

Afghanistan’s Defence Minister Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid has held separate meetings with senior Qatari and Turkish security officials to discuss bilateral relations, security cooperation and regional stability.Afghanistan’s Defence Minister Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid met with Hamad bin Khamis Al-Kaabi, Deputy of Qatar’s National Security Council, according to a statement from Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence on Wednesday.During the meeting in Kabul, held alongside a Qatari delegation, Mujahid and Al-Kaabi discussed ways to strengthen relations and cooperation between Afghanistan and Qatar, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding bilateral ties.Mujahid also met separately with Ibrahim Kalin, Director of Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation, to discuss Afghanistan-Türkiye relations, with talks centred on security cooperation and regional stability.Both sides exchanged views on regional developments and stressed the need for continued coordination.
