Putin launches terrifying ballistic missile onslaught on Kyiv after being humiliated by Ukraine’s warehouse strikes

RUSSIA has unleashed a barrage of deadly ballistic missile strikes on Ukraine in one of the most intense blitzes of the war so far. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: “Throughout the night, Russia launched one of the most massive ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv. The Russians are terrorists.” A chronic shortage of air defence missiles has left Ukraine exposed to Putin’s fury, with reports suggesting most of the 51 missiles reached their intended targets. As fires raged across Kyiv, reports indicated the Meridian radio electronics plant had been hit. The Artem defence plant, which manufactures missiles and aviation equipment, was also targeted. In a twisted act of warfare, missiles also struck a rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities in Sumy. The bombardment came just hours after Ukraine launched its own bombing campaign against Russian logistics infrastructure. Pro-Ukrainian commentators hailed the attack, declaring: “Probably the best night in a long time. “Finally, counter-actions against logistical hubs controlled by the Russians have begun. “There are far more of these hubs in Russian-controlled territory than there are in ours. They all need to be destroyed.” Putin’s overnight barrage was also widely seen as retaliation for Ukraine’s sustained attacks on Russian oil refineries, fuel depots, and tankers. Renewed strikes have disrupted fuel supplies and inflicted significant economic damage. Kyiv has also shown no sign of easing the pressure. Zelensky vowed to keep his foot on Russia’s throat as Ukrainian drones struck up to three oil depots in the Stavropol region overnight. Thick black smoke darkened the skies above Mikhaylovsk, prompting regional governor Vladimir Vladimirov to declare a local state of emergency.
