McClelland has been serving as the athletic director at Rice since 2023. He will be formally introduced at a press conference on Thursday. Bobinski, 68, has led the athletic department in West Lafayette, Ind., since 2016. McClelland was a long snapper for the football team and a javelin thrower for the track team at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. He served as the athletic director for two schools in his home state of Louisiana at McNeese State (2008-13) and Louisiana Tech (2013-20) before becoming deputy AD at Vanderbilt (2020-23). --Field Level Media
