Punjab govt raises Adarsh School teachers' pay from Rs 10,000 to over Rs 22,000

The government said the move reflects its commitment to ensuring that those responsible for shaping Punjab's future receive fair pay, dignity and due recognition for their work.Mann said the state government would continue to protect the interests of teachers, adding that a stronger education system and a secure future for students depend on empowering those who teach them.TEACHERS TO GET IMPROVED FACILITIESDuring a meeting with a delegation of Adarsh School teachers, Mann said successive governments had failed to adequately address the concerns of the teaching community despite its crucial role in shaping Punjab's future. "Teachers are the backbone of our education system. For nearly two decades, these teachers have served with dedication despite receiving a meagre salary. Our government has decided to correct this long-standing injustice by increasing their salaries by more than 120 percent," he said.The chief minister said the teachers would not only receive higher salaries but would also be provided facilities based on the Kendriya Vidyalaya school pattern. The move, he said, would improve their overall service conditions. According to PTI, more than 15,000 students are currently enrolled in these CBSE-affiliated Adarsh Schools, Mann said, adding that the state government remains committed to safeguarding the interests of both students and teachers."When teachers feel secure and respected, students receive better education. Our priority is to safeguard the interests of teachers so that the future of every child studying in these schools remains secure," he added.Mann said the government had addressed the genuine demands of Adarsh School teachers after years of neglect under previous administrations."Our government is committed to the welfare of every section of society.
