Pune woman dies after iron frame falls on her, family refuses to lodge complaint

A 45-year-old woman died after a temporary iron structure erected for a Dahi Handi event collapsed on her in Pune, police said on Saturday.The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Salma Salauddin Pathan. The accident occurred late on Friday night when workers were dismantling the iron arch following the event's conclusion.A portion of the arch suddenly fell on Salma, striking her on the head. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.Her son was associated with the organising mandal, and her family members have declined to lodge a complaint against the organisers, police said. They have also requested the police not to register a case on their own in connection with the matter.
