PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov KNOCKED OUT during warm-up as medics rush to star’s attention

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN goalkeeper Matvey Safonov was wiped out in a scary warm-up collision before facing Lille. The Russian shotstopper leapt forward to punch away a ball during routine drills but smashed his head against a member of PSG’s coaching staff. Early reports from inside the stadium also stressed the incident was caused by the heavy impact rather than a spontaneous medical episode. Lucas Chevalier then stepped up his own preparations in case Safonov was unable to stay on for the game. Safonov had been due to feature for PSG in their Ligue 1 trip to Lille and eventually he was given the green light to start. And Chevalier was told to stand down. And things got worse for the visitors on the pitch when Hakon Haraldsson fired Lille into the lead before half-time.
