Moments later, her remarks came undone as officers walked up and dragged her away mid-interview.A video of the moment has emerged amid protests in New Delhi against the Special Intensive Revision of voter rolls being conducted by the Election Commission. The demonstrations saw a heavy deployment of personnel, with several protesters detained.Speaking to the media hours after she went trending online for snatching the keys from the police bus driver, the woman said, “Mereko detain nahi kar sakte kyunki main inse bohat tez bhaag leti hoon, yeh bhaag nahi paate. Yeh bohat unfit hain (They cannot detain me because I can run much faster than them. They cannot run. They are very unfit).”She doubled down on the taunts in another video from the same interview, saying, “Toh detain karke kar kya lenge yeh? Aaj police ki haalat khasta ho gayi hai. Tond leke aa jaate hain, bhaag toh sakte nahi hai. 50 minute bhaagne mein haafne lag jaate hain. Yeh pakrenge humko (So what will they achieve by detaining me? The condition of the police has become so poor today. They come with pot bellies and cannot even run. They start panting after running for 50 minutes. How will they catch us?)” But before she could finish the interview, several officers approached and dragged her away.“Kaun ho aap? Main baat kar rahi hoon media se (Who are you? I am speaking to the media),” she was heard saying as the officers took her away. Meanwhile, an interviewer was heard saying in the background: “Dekhiye kaise detain karke le jaa rahi hai police (Look at how the police are taking her away after detaining her).”Here’s the video where she had managed to snatch the keys from the driver of the bus carrying detained protesters at Jantar Mantar. The driver was preparing to leave with the detainees when she took the keys and disappeared into the crowd, with some people chasing her to retrieve them. The woman, who is filmmaker Ashwini Chaudhary’s daughter, was also encouraged by her father in social media posts featuring clips of her from the protest. “Courage...it’s in the blood. From my father to my brother and now our daughter. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” Chaudhary said.COURAGEits in the blood . From my Father to my Brother and now our Daughter.
