Prof disclosed student’s childhood abuse in book

PHILADELPHIA — A federal court in Pennsylvania allowed a former graduate student to pursue privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims against a Penn State professor who published details of the student’s childhood sexual abuse without his consent. He plausibly argued the professor encouraged him to share about his abuse in confidential seminars and knew the information was highly sensitive but published it and named him in her book anyway.
