CRICKET star Luke Hollman survived a viral Lime Bike taxi crash before starring for Middlesex. The all-rounder crashed into the back of a London cab in July which left him with a scare on his forehead. He went into the taxi after it was forced to suddenly stop due to another cyclist dismounting at the kerb. Sign up for the Sport newsletter Thank you! The clip went viral on social media as he could be seen stumbling to the pavement after the collision. He was left with a bloodied cut on his face as bystanders rushed to see if he was okay. Just four weeks later, on August 20, Hollman was back in action for Middlesex in the MetroBank One Day Cup semi-final. His return did not disappoint as he played a starring role in the victory over Ben Stokes‘ Durham. Hollman knocked 83 runs not out and took three wickets from his ten overs. He has been pictured for the first time ahead of the One Day Cup final against Leicestershire at Trent Bridge today. In an interview with The Telegraph, he admitted that he did not instantly realise the severity of what had happened. He said: “I put my hand to my head and realised there was a bit of blood. “So thought I would park the bike, look at my face in my phone camera and tell the guys I’m meeting I might be a bit late. “I put my hand down again and there was a huge stream of blood. “A couple of members of the public looked after me, luckily one had an emergency first-aid pack, so football style had my head wrapped.” He had suffered a laceration five inches long down his forehead which left part of skull exposed. Hollman needed to have 35 stitches to fix the bad wound. A CT scan was able to rule out a skull fracture but a concussion did rule out an immediate return to the wicket. Comment now
