Actor Priyanka Chopra has said she would not have loved singer-actor Nick Jonas if he had not respected her culture, stressing that respect for a partner's roots is vital in a multicultural relationship. The actor made the remarks while speaking about her marriage to Nick and the role of Indian culture and traditions in their relationship.In an interview with E! News, Priyanka said, "I don't know if I'd love him if he didn't. That is a big part of any story or any relationship that is multicultural. I think it's really important to have a sense of respect for your partner's roots."Priyanka and Nick have often spoken about finding their biggest cheerleader in each other and about accepting and respecting each other's cultures. She also credited Nick with helping maintain the spark in their relationship, adding, "Being kind to your partner. That's something that's really important."Priyanka was in New York for the premiere of the documentary Cycle of Love, on which she served as an executive producer. The documentary tells the real-life love story of K Mahanandia and Lotta Von Schedvin, who travelled across countries decades ago to be together. On the work front, Priyanka has SS Rajamouli's Varanasi in the pipeline alongside actors Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Varanasi is set to release during Sankranti 2027, marking her debut in a Telugu film.The film's story is co-written by V Vijayendra Prasad and SS Kanchi, while Rajamouli has written the screenplay. The upcoming action-adventure is co-produced by KL Narayana and SS Karthikeya.Priyanka also has the second season of the Prime Video series Citadel in the pipeline.
