INTRODUCING a new boyfriend to the family is never easy – but spare a thought for Princess Andre. Any suitor she brings home will have her protective pop star dad Peter Andre and infamously chaotic mum Katie Price to contend with. So little wonder influencer Princess, 19, is fine with staying single as her social media and TV career takes off — which her big brother Junior, 21, is all the happier for. In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Princess said: “I think if I was to bring someone home and wanted a relationship with him, I’d have to make sure that . . .” Descending into giggles, Princess continued: “I’d have to get the vibe that they’d be good for my family. Otherwise, it’s a no-go.” Junior has been dating model Jasmine Orr for two years and she has already passed the test. He revealed: “Anyone who’s in our life, you know, has to get along with my family and gel with them. Dad was strictest with me, obviously, because I’m his eldest. Princess got away with so much stuff.” Turning to his little sister, he asked: “What boys are you meeting anyway?”During the World Cup, Princess posed for a snap wearing an England crop top, prompting fans to suggest that she might be keen to bag a footballer. She laughed: “Well . . . no comment”, while Junior added, “No, mate”. It is a revealing insight into the relationship between Princess and Junior, Katie’s eldest children, and how close their friendship is. Junior clearly feels incredibly protective of his sister. We are chatting about the third series of The Princess Diaries, which launches somewhat in the shadow of Katie’s chaotic love life. Her husband Lee has spent time in a Dubai jail on fraud allegations amid a litany of other accusations, including unverified rumours of a gay affair, more scams and claims of abuse towards former partners. Princess said: “The most comments I get are, ‘Are you dating?’. And to be honest, I don’t actually know why people are so interested in it. I think some things are to be kept private.” She added: “I’m too young for dating apps anyway and I’m not desperate to date. I’m not looking for a boyfriend. “If they come along then they come along — I’m not going to turn away something that could be good. “There is a celebrity dating app, isn’t there? “But I wouldn’t do Love Island. I feel like instead of me actually going on, I’d probably just want to present it or even do [sister show] Aftersun.” Junior weighs in: “I don’t think you need to be going on dating apps. Like, that’s not the right place for you to find a boyfriend. “You can just meet someone in real life.” The siblings’ relationship takes centre stage in The Princess Diaries, which follows the pair as they work and play hard. It has become ITV2’s biggest show outside the Love Island universe and, on ITVX, has racked up almost four million streams. Princess said: “There is actually loads that’s happened for this series. I think I’m going to watch it back and be like, ‘I forgot we filmed that’. “I remember just coming out of this series thinking, ‘Yeah, that was really fun’. “I feel like this series has been a lot more raw. You see a lot more emotions but, because we grew up on our mum and dad’s reality shows, we are used to being in front of the camera. The show does follow me a bit more this series, because it’s that time now and my music is about to be released. “Whatever ‘Diaries’ it is, you’re always gonna see me and Princess because we’re brother and sister. “So we’re always gonna be involved — we’re so close to each other.” Describing their bond, Princess said: “We always support each other and want to make sure that each other’s talents are shown and we always want to boost each other. “I literally go to Junior for all my problems and he actually gives the best advice out of anyone. I need my older brother.” Junior reckons maturity has strengthened his relationship with Princess. He explained: “I’m a big bro and I care for her — I’m always there for her. As we’re getting older, we’re getting closer, we’re doing more things together. “We can have more grown-up conversations . . . we’re obviously experiencing life growing up, and I just love how that translates in the show.” For the first time, both Katie and Peter are appearing in the series after calling a truce in their fractured relationship. In February, the warring pair — who were married from 2005 to 2009 — released a bombshell joint statement saying they wanted to focus on “creating a calm and supportive environment” for Junior and Princess. I don’t think divorced parents would sit in a room and have a conversation, but it’s not to say it would never happen.” Junior went on: “The main thing is, it’s amicable. They’ve got a truce, but they’re not best friends and they don’t need to be. The fact that they’re both in it is great because it’s our parents. We love them, and want everyone to be involved. But yeah, they don’t need to cross paths.” Princess told how she values having loved ones on the show, adding: “It is way more fun for me . . . because I like having my family there. I guess it shows people they are calm — that yes, they’re not best friends but they don’t need to be.” The topic of shady Lee Andrews is off-limits in our chat, but it is clear there would be no room for him in The Princess Diaries. Earlier, at a Q&A, the siblings were asked how they coped with everyone discussing the off-screen drama. Princess said: “She’s our mum at the end of the day, so, you know, we’ve only got one mum. Own it. “It’s really important for us to have perfect relationships with our parents and our family.” Junior added: “There’s pressures, there’s everything, but that’s just our life — and our life is great and we just keep it going. “We’re growing into it and we’re working hard and doing what we love and following our dreams, following our passions and just trying to do the best that we can.” So what next for Princess and Junior? Princess said: “Celebrity Traitors! That would be fun.” Junior chipped in: “We just like having fun, doing fun things, but also challenging ourselves.” In a nod to the 2004 reality TV show where his parents fell in love, he added: “Obviously, I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here! — we’d do it together. I don’t know if siblings have ever done it together, but we are the only jungle babies. “It is calling to us. We have to do it.” Princess added with a laugh: “I can hear the birds and everything. I’m waiting for the day I wake up there.” Junior, however, does not want to lean on his dad in the music industry —despite Peter scoring three UK No1 singles, including Mysterious Girl. He said: “I wouldn’t have him guest on my music. He probably wouldn’t want to anyway. “He doesn’t help me with my music. He’s not involved. I’ve got a different style, a different voice. “We’re not trying to do it together, we’re not trying to duet together.”Junior does perform a rap on a new version of Peter’s 1996 chart-topper Flava, for his new album Legacy. He said: “It was a No1 back in the day and obviously, for memories, I wanted to do it. “I just wrote a quick rap and he loved it and that’s enough, because we can go on stage and perform that together.” There will be no sampling Mysterious Girl, though. “No!”, Junior insists. “That’s my dad’s song. He can own that and I’ll have my own Mysterious Girl at some point.” Whether they emulate their parents’ careers or not, it is clear that being forged in the fire of fame has shaped Junior and Princess. He said: “I’d definitely say that they’ve just kind of taught us to have strong heads and be yourself. “Be respectful, be kind, down to earth, remember where you come from and treat people how you want to be treated.” The Princess Diaries, series three, starts Tuesday, 9pm, on ITV2 and ITVX.
