Premiering in February 2025 with an initial eight-episode run, the story introduces King David as a young shepherd. The prophet Samuel selects him to succeed King Saul. The series also follows David through a challenging journey of his own, including his confrontation with Goliath. Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios, which produces the series, have announced that House of David season 3 has entered into production in Greece and will conclude with its upcoming third season. House of David season 3 will see “David’s transformation from outcast shepherd to fierce warrior to chosen King” finally completed, according to the official synopsis. Still, before the throne, David has to deal with exile and being a hunted outlaw. He's forced to hide among his enemies, living another dangerous lie as he explores the true cost of destiny and the dual pain of sacrifices and betrayals before rising to the throne. Michael Iskander will, of course, be back in his lead role of David. The young actor reflected on how the character “changed his life” in ways that he never could have predicted. His full statement, reflecting on the end of the Prime Video Original, is below. A statement from executive producers Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn is also included: Erwin and Gunn: “We're incredibly grateful to be back in Greece with the cast and crew who've given everything to this story. Season Three brings us to the final season of this trilogy, the chapter of David's life we set out to tell from the very beginning. We're honored to finish it alongside our partners at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, and we hope audiences feel just how far David has come by the time his story reaches the throne.” Iskander: “Playing David has changed my life in ways I never could have anticipated when we began this journey. I’ve grown alongside this character, and getting to explore his complexity, his courage, his flaws, his ambition and the weight of the choices he makes, has been an extraordinary experience. Knowing this is our final season makes every moment feel that much more significant. I’m incredibly grateful to have been entrusted with this role, and I can’t wait for audiences to see where we take David in this final chapter.” Along with Iskander, the returning House of David cast includes Ali Suliman as King Saul, and Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam. The ensemble cast also includes Indy Lewis, Yali Topol Margalith, Ethan Kai, Sam Otto, Oded Fehr, Louis Ferreira, Davood Ghadami, Aury Alby, and Alexander Uloom. More to come...
