Prime Video’s ‘Bosch’ Replacement Officially Returns Without Titus Welliver

It's been a whole year since viewers first met LAPD detective Renée Ballard, and the star has marked the anniversary by showing us how tense things are in Los Angeles on a shooting day. There are police vehicles, a freeway, a shotgun, and Ballard having a rough day at the office but one familiar face, however, is noticeably absent. Q shared a video on Instagram showing her filming an action sequence for Ballard. Wearing a police vest and carrying a shotgun, she can be seen sprinting down the middle of a freeway as emergency vehicles surround the area. The clip was filmed during Season 1 rather than the upcoming second season, but Q used it to tease what lies ahead when the Prime Video crime drama returns. There is no sign of Titus Welliver as Harry Bosch in the footage, despite the actor being confirmed to return during Season 2. “One year ago today, you met Renée Ballard,” Q wrote. “Here’s a little peek behind the scenes of @ballardonprime Season 1, while you binge (or rewatch 😉.) Catch up before Season 2… because we’re just getting started. It’s worth the wait, I promise.” Titus Welliver Will Return in ‘Ballard’ Season 2 Welliver appeared throughout the first season as Bosch, helping connect the spin-off directly to Bosch: Legacy. His involvement in Season 2 has already been confirmed, although the actor does not appear in Q’s latest preview. Speaking to ScreenRant at the Italian Global Series festival, Welliver revealed that Bosch will appear in three episodes of Ballard Season 2 which is the same number of episodes he appeared in during season one, and it ensures the series will continue using him as an important connection to the wider franchise without shifting the spotlight away from Maggie Q and her title character. Welliver said he comes into the series to “kind of service the brand,” while also praising the experience of working with Q, and described the spin-off as fun while adding that it doesn't carry quite the same intensity as the original Bosch series did.
