Prime Video's 8-Episode Mystery Series Is Smashing Down Genre Boundaries, And It's About Time

Sterling Point Is A Teen Romance Series That Doesn't Lose Sight Of Darker Themes Although at its core, Sterling Point presents as a teen drama with a heavy side of romance, the series is a lot more than what meets the eye. Following Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin), a high-strung 17-year-old New Yorker who finds out that she and her twin have inherited an island from their late grandfather who they didn't know, the series sees its main character forging her own path ahead of her eighteenth birthday. As Annie, who leaves her twin brother Connor (Keen Ruffalo) behind as she searches for the truth, uncovers more secrets, she finds herself in the difficult process. Set in the Muskokas, a lakeside area of Ontario, Canada with lush forests prime for tourists, Annie gets the chance to enmesh herself in a new community that's well away from her home base in New York. As she continues to move through the family mystery that's intensely layered throughout the show, the series takes turns changing what it is at its core. Sterling Point does a great job at never allowing itself to fit into a singular box. Instead, it touches on dark themes without coming to grandiose or sweeping conclusions, allowing the tension to continue hanging around. Is Sterling Point 2026's Best Teen Drama So Far? While there have only been eight episodes of Sterling Point thus far, the show's ability to weave through the difficulties of being a teenager on the brink of adulthood has captivated viewers and done something special for the series.
