Prime Video's high fantasy series keeps improving its action sequences, and that has led to two of the genre's best battles to date, and at least one more should be on the way. Prime Video is a streaming service that knows how to get action done right. After all, some of Prime Video's biggest TV shows are all about action. That includes action thriller series like Reacher, Neagley, and The Terminal List. However, exciting action sequences can also be found on Prime Video shows of other genres. Among those are some of the most popular fantasy series on Prime Video. Two of those come in animated form, as The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein are quite creative. They use magic, artifacts, unique character skills, dynamic environments, and more to keep the fantasy shows' action sequences always engaging. That said, animation is a medium that lends itself quite well to action sequences in the genre. It is harder to get those right due to the limitations imposed by budget restrictions for live-action fantasy series. Still, some have succeeded. That is where Prime Video's most ambitious TV show ever, the high fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, comes in. This live-action The Lord of the Rings took some time to find its footing in season 1. Still, that first season introduced one of the most jaw-dropping battles in fantasy movies or TV shows. Season 2 followed that with another massive battle sequence to confirm the franchise's expertise on the topic. Rings Of Power Has Two Of The Genre's Best Battles The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power's first major battle came in season 1, episode 6, "Udûn." Looking on IMDB, the difference between that episode and the rest is noticeable, as "Udûn" stands at an 8.1 user score, whereas the second-highest is a 7.7, and after that, it goes down to a 7.3. This was the episode that focused on the dark Battle of Tirharad, which saw the orcs forever change the Southlands. From hand-to-hand combat and swords/bows to a massive volcanic eruption that devastated everything, this was a franchise-defining battle that will never be forgotten. The Rings of Power season 2 was much better than the first, with more action, better pacing, and characters becoming quite complex. That would culminate in the Prime Video high fantasy series' second major battle, the Siege of Eregion. While the action was divided into the final three episodes of The Rings of Power season 2, the majority of the main battle happened in episode 7, "Doomed to Die." The episode saw the elves fight against the Orcs led by Adar, all while Sauron manipulated Celebrimbor. It was intense, bloody, and ended on another dark note for the series with Elrond's faith squashed. Prime Video's Rings Of Power Still Has At Least One More Major Battle Ahead Based on how both seasons of the Prime Video high fantasy series have played out so far, it is safe to assume that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power should have at least one more major battle per season left in its five-season plan. That said, what we know for sure is coming at some point is the Battle of the Gwathló. The reason for that is simple, as that was the battle responsible for disrupting Sauron's plans, taking out his army. This forced him into hiding for a long time. Given its importance to the War of the Elves and Sauron, which The Rings of Power season 3 will tackle head on, the Battle of the Gwathló would make sense for the show's new batch of episodes. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 3 will debut on November 11 on Prime Video with a massive 4-episode premiere, releasing two episodes per week for the following two weeks. The potential is there for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 3 to continue the high fantasy series' trend of genre-best battles.
