President Droupadi Murmu worships at Goddess Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada

President Droupadi Murmu at the Goddess Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada on Wednesday. President Droupadi Murmu had darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam here on Wednesday.Temple priests offered her a traditional welcome from Rajagopuram. She offered special prayers at the temple.Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita, devasthanam Trust Board chairman Borra Radhakrishna, and others received her. Temple’s Executive Officer V.K. Seena Naik presented her a photograph of the presiding deity and laddu prasadam.Earlier, Ms. Murmu arrived at the Gannavaram airport from Delhi in a special aircraft. Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Union Ministers K. Paswan and Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, State Ministers Nara Lokesh, Ms. Anitha and Kollu Ravindra, MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry and BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav, among others, received her. She later travelled by road to Vijayawada. On Thursday, Ms. Murmu would inaugurate the SARAS Mela (Sale of Articles of Rural Artisans Society) being jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh Government and the Ministry of Rural Development under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission, at Punnami Ghat.
