Premios Juventud 2026: 5 Things You Didn’t See on TV

Quevedo, Farruko, Greeicy, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Elvis Crespo and Ana Mena were among the artists who performed during the gala. The ceremony also recognized Antonio Banderas, Marc Anthony, Yandel and La Oreja de Van Gogh as Agents of Change. Among the winners were Shakira and Burna Boy for “Dai Dai,” which took home the OMG Collaboration Award, and Carín León and Alejandro Fernández for “Me Está Doliendo,” which I chose as my favorite track. Farruko, Juan Magán and DJ Rous kicked off the show with “Marbella Nights,” and Greeicy later joined Farruko and Steve Aoki to perform “Yapaque.” But while the performances and the awards ceremony took center stage during the broadcast, other parts of the evening unfolded on the red carpet, in the audience and behind the scenes, where there were reunions, conversations among artists, moments with fans and even people in the audience who ended up singing along to their colleagues’ songs. The event had begun hours before the gala with the artists’ arrival on the red carpet, where, in addition to posing for the cameras and speaking with the media, some stopped to chat with fans. Conversations with Billboard Español also revealed details about new music, possible collaborations and the next steps for several of them. In addition to those exchanges, there were encounters that took place off-camera, both before and during the ceremony. Here are five things you didn’t see on TV during the 2026 Premios Juventud. A Look With a Story Marta Sánchez and Carlos Baute were the stars of one of the night’s reunions, 18 years after the release of “Colgando en Tus Manos” (2008), which this very week reached another milestone by joining YouTube’s Billion Views Club. On the red carpet, they appeared close and in sync — something they had already hinted at before arriving at the ceremony by sharing several moments together on their social media accounts on their way to the Premios Juventud. The artists, who hadn’t appeared together at a public event in quite some time, took the opportunity to recreate the outfits they wore to the Premios Juventud in 2010. Back then, Sánchez wore a short metallic blue dress, while Baute appeared dressed in white practically from head to toe. This time, she chose a long sky-blue beaded dress with a plunging neckline, and he wore a cream-colored jacket with black pants and a white shirt. Codiciado a Fan of La Oreja de Van Gogh Codiciado took a brief break from corridos to sing Latin pop hit “Rosas” at the top of his lungs while La Oreja de Van Gogh performed the song during the gala. From his seat, the Mexican artist sang along to much of the song like any other fan. Hours earlier, on the red carpet, he spoke with Billboard Español about his upcoming project, “Bragados y Migajeros.” This Friday (Sept. 4), he released the first single, “Te Veías Mejor Conmigo,” a banda version of the Espinosa Paz classic. “There’s new music coming for all the ‘bragados’ — those guys who hit the dance floor when they hear our music — and for the ‘migajeros’ too, because sometimes you’ll talk to a woman to try to win her over, even if she says no,” he explained with a laugh. “I think it’s something that can really connect with our audience.” No. 1 Among Friends Judeline spoke with Billboard Español on the red carpet about “Bby WOW,” her collaboration with Karol G and Rusowsky, which just earned her her first No. 1 on the Billboard charts after climbing from No. 5 to the top of Hot Latin Songs. “She’s so professional and so humble. I’ve learned a lot from her in the studio,” she said of Karol G. But this achievement also has personal significance for the Spanish singer: Judeline and Rusowsky have been friends since they moved to Madrid five or six years ago. “We’ve grown up together; we’ve watched each other grow. So it’s really nice to see friends succeed,” she said. She also hinted that her plans might include crossing the Atlantic: “I’m looking into going to Los Angeles for a few months; I think it’s necessary and that it’s time.” Elena Rose Doesn’t Hold Anything Back Elena Rose was all smiles and approachable on the red carpet, where she took plenty of time to greet, chat with, and take photos with the fans who were waiting for her. When Billboard Español asked her if she had written any songs lately that she wanted to keep for herself, she replied with a laugh, “Yes, but I’m already looking forward to performing them with someone else.” “I love getting together with artists I admire and collaborating with them, especially when they’re from different countries. It’s a way to reach more hearts and also show that Latinos are coming together to create great music,” she explained. Among those he’d like to work with again, she mentioned Eladio Carrión: “I really admire Eladio, he’s a mentor and a brother. We already have a song together, but I’d love to keep making music with him.” Off-Camera Encounters The red carpet and backstage areas also provided several encounters.
