SUNDERLAND have announced upgrades to its matchday experience for supporters at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland have refurbished all their hospitality boxes at the stadium to give them “a significant uplift in look and feel”. This includes the introduction of padded seats in the corporate sections. The club have created a new hospitality space called The Coalfields that will allow fans to enjoy a hospitality experience on a match-by-match basis. The regular concourses across the stadium have also been upgraded, with new kiosks added in the west and east stands. The club hope the improvements will help reduce queues and increase service capacity. There will also be more food options with additional mobile hot dog carts. Those will be available from the Arsenal home game on Sunderland 12, following the clash against Fulham on August 30. Sunderland said: “Sunderland AFC has continued to invest in the matchday experience at the Stadium of Light ahead of the 2026-27 season, with improvements across hospitality, concourse facilities and the food and drink offer. “All hospitality boxes have undergone a full refurbishment, delivering a significant uplift in look and feel, alongside new padded seats in the bowl. “Guests will also benefit from a new pre-ordering portal, providing a more bespoke experience with the option to add upgrades ahead of matchday. “Across the Stadium, visual improvements have also been made to entrance and staircase areas, while two new kiosks have been added around the lower bowl in the West and East Stands, increasing service capacity and helping to reduce queues. “We look forward to welcome Sunderland supporters back to the Stadium of Light this weekend, when we host Fulham on Sunday (2pm kick-off).” Comment now
