Premier League owner reveals club’s entire transfer plans on Twitter in unprecedented move after ‘false rumours’

HULL CITY owner Acun Ilicali has bizarrely taken to social media to clarify the club’s transfer business. The Tigers are back in the Premier League for the first time in nine years and want to add to their squad this summer. But Ilicali is “disturbed” and unhappy by media reports that Hull have been rejected for other targets. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! The Hull owner therefore took the unique approach yesterday (THU) of posting a cryptic shortlist on social media of the club’s transfer targets. Butland, Targett and Zambrano were all listed with a green tick by them, but underneath were 11 unnamed players. Ilicali used flag emojis and percentages as clues for fans, with several matching of them players that Hull are after. Target No4 was listed as a Japan flag with 99 per cent by it and is likely a nod to midfielder Hidemasa Morita being set to join as a free agent. There was also a Greek flag that indicated a huge deal is “90%” done – and that is surely for Olympiacos’ highly-rated goalkeeper Konstantis Tzolakis, who SunSport understands is set to move to the MKM Stadium for £17m once his club find a new No1. Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, Ilicali wrote: “We are reading dozens of false transfer rumors in many places. I believe we will build a team that we will all be proud of. “To prevent false speculation and to give you more information, I am leaving you with our latest transfer situation, which includes some clues.” Comment now
