The Batwara 1947 actor was clicked wearing a black tee that read ‘Team Tukaram Mundhe’, making her support for the Maharashtra FDA Commissioner rather hard to miss. Her sartorial shout-out comes as Mundhe’s crackdown on food safety across Maharashtra continues to make waves.Preity kept things simple with blue jeans, white trainers and a watch. But there was nothing particularly subtle about the T-shirt. In a city where celebrity fashion can become a talking point within minutes, this one came with a very clear message.A video of Preity’s outing soon made its way to social media, with users focusing on the words splashed across her T-shirt. Mundhe, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration Commissioner, has been at the centre of a major crackdown on food safety in the state. His strict approach towards hotels, restaurants and other food businesses has earned him attention well beyond government circles. And now, it seems, Bollywood is joining the conversation.A few days ago, actor-turned-author Twinkle Khanna put her own humorous spin on the ongoing crackdown with a witty post about Mundhe’s inspections. "Is it really so rare to see a government official simply doing his job that it has become news?" she wrote.See her post here:So, who is Tukaram Mundhe?Mundhe is an IAS officer known for his no-nonsense style of working. As Maharashtra FDA Commissioner, he has been enforcing food safety rules across the state, including in Mumbai. Some licences have also been suspended or cancelled.His campaign has drawn support from members of the public and sparked conversation among celebrities.
