Pregnant woman & child among three killed in horror shooting after masked men open fire at Spanish holiday resort

A PREGNANT woman and a child are among three people who have been killed in a shooting at a Spanish holiday resort. Two masked men on a motorbike opened fire at a family on the Costa de la Luz near the southern border with Portugal. The horror unfolded around 10pm last night in the city of Isla Cristina, which is roughly 5 miles from the Spanish-Portuguese border. The victims’ bodies have been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in the provincial capital Huelva so autopsies can take place. Grisly photos, which The Sun has chosen not show, were taken by horrified locals and tourists and appeared on social media but were removed. No arrests have yet taken place but the incident has already been linked to a previous shooting that took place in Huelva in September 2024, which left one person dead and two injured. Well-placed sources told local press the three people killed last night are the sister, mum and nephew of the man arrested over the earlier shooting. He was held in Gijon in northern Spain after going on the run and remanded in custody pending a trial. The Civil Guard is leading the ongoing investigation into the fatal shootings. The force has yet to make any official comment. Isla Cristina, one of southern Spain’s most important fishing ports, is known for its fine sand beaches. The nearest airports are Faro on the Portuguese Algarve which is just 40 miles away and Seville which is 80 miles away. The shooting comes after six people were gunned down at another popular Spanish holiday resort in May. Two were killed and four others, including two children, were rushed to a hospital. The victims include a seven-month-old baby who was taken to the intensive care unit. After fleeing the scene last night, a 25-year-old man surrendered to police and was arrested.
