Pregnant cop asks man to come later with complaint; he returns with rod, hits her

A man who came to a Bengaluru police station to file a complaint returned with an iron rod and attacked pregnant constable Shilpa. The assault left her seriously injured and police suspect it was an attempt to kill her.The woman constable asked the man to return later as there was no personnel at the station to file his complaint.A pregnant woman constable at a railway police station in Bengaluru was attacked by a man who had come to file a complaint but was asked to return later. Hereturned with an iron rod and struck her on the head at least eight times in what police suspect was an attempt to kill her.At around 5.30 am on August 16, the accused came to the Majestic Railway Police Station to file a complaint. Woman constable Shilpa was reportedly the only staff member available at the time.As there was no other personnel available to attend to his complaint, Shilpa asked the man to return laterAccording to the police, the man left the station but returned shortly afterwards. This time, he was carrying a heavy iron rod fitted with a barricade wheel. He then attacked Shilpa, repeatedly striking her on the head.Shilpa suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Manipal Hospital for treatment and later shifted to Suguna Hospital.
