Powerful Explosions Rock Central Kyiv Amid Ongoing Russian Drone Attack

Kyiv remained under a Russian drone attack on Wednesday morning, with several powerful explosions heard across the capital. A Kyiv Post correspondent arriving at the Kyiv Post office at around 10:40 a.m. heard a very loud explosion apparently coming from the area across the road from the office. According to local monitoring channels, all five reported strikes were in the area around Kyiv’s Central Railway Station. The station itself was not hit, Ukrainian railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia said. The exact locations of the strikes have not been independently confirmed. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at least four people had been injured in the capital since the morning. Russian strikes on Kyiv, including repeated attacks near the central railway station, have injured eight people, with one critically wounded victim dying in hospital. In the Solomianskyi district, drone debris fell between residential buildings and a fire broke out at a transportation company. In Holosiivskyi district, warehouses and a gas station were damaged, while another gas station was hit in the Darnytskyi district. The attack was still ongoing as of late morning, with authorities continuing to assess the damage and casualties.
