Published Sep 24, 2026, 10:01 AM EDT Increase your power to cast more combat abilities Image: Remedy Entertainment via Polygon Power upgrade points are special items that are mostly found in large resource crates scattered around the Control Resonant map. Once you collect three power upgrade points, you'll increase your maximum power, which is a resource used to cast combat abilities. Keep in mind that you are not increasing your damage output, but more so increasing how many abilities you can use when the white bar fills up on your screen. Here's where you can find power upgrade points in Control Resonant. [Ed. note: This guide is currently a work in progress. We'll update this guide with every power upgrade point location shortly.] How to get power upgrade points in Control Resonant Power upgrade points are found in large resource crates, specifically the crates made out of concrete blocks, or earned as a reward from arcade machines. Some of the resource crates are locked in testing research facilities, so you'll need to solve a few puzzles and beat a few challenges. Your best bet is to level up your zones until you unlock the locations of every large resource crate on the map. Unfortunately, you won't know what's inside the crate until you see it, and some are still hard to find, even if you know their location. As for the arcade machines, you need to earn the second-highest score to get one as a reward, but these can be fairly tough, especially early on. However, if you're short on time, you can always use the Assist Mode menu to help you get a high score. Downtown power upgrade point locations in Control Resonant We've found four power upgrade points in Downtown, so far. Two of them can be reached without any traversal abilities, but the other two will need Reach, which can be obtained from the Evacuation Zone. Location Map Description Resonant Ruins Head back to the Resonant Ruins, where you faced off against the Artist resonant in the prologue. You'll find the concrete crate near the center of the arena. Southeast construction site Head southeast of the vendor, where you'll find an under-construction building. Find the entrance on the southern side of the building, and defeat the enemies inside. Go into the room on the bottom floor to find the power upgrade point. Testing Facility Reade Use Reach at Lookout Point to get into the southeastern area of Downtown. Then head inside the construction site, where you'll find an entrance to a sewer on the bottom floor. Follow it to the end, where you'll find a puzzle where you need to swap every item into a soda dispenser and place them into a yellow square. Once solved, head into the unlocked room to find the power upgrade point. Arcade machine To get this power upgrade point, make sure your Downtown is at least zone level 8. In the southeastern area of Downtown, use Reach to jump onto the rooftops and then jump over to the floating platform of traffic pylons and trash cans. Follow the platforms to the laundromat, where you'll find the arcade machine inside. Get the second-highest score to get a power upgrade point. To get them all, you'll need to progress in the "Contain the Crisis" main story line and level up the zone to four in order to unlock every power upgrade point. Location Map Description Underground Supply Route After you ride the elevator down from the Watchtower, you'll enter a large room with a power block. There'll be two unpowered blocks: one in the north and one in the west. Transfer the power to the one in the west, and head inside to find the power upgrade point. R&C Storage Progress in the "Evacuation Procedures" main story quest in the Evacuation Zone to get the level 2 security keycard. Then, return to the "Field Office" fast travel door, and head to the bottom level to find the R&C Storage room. Patterned Factory (second floor) Use a power block to get inside the Patterned Factory, and head up to the second floor. You'll see another room that needs a charged power block. Hit the power block to the south, and quickly take it back to the locked room. Unlock the door and head inside, where you'll find a power upgrade point. FBC Testing Facility Head northeast from the vendor to find a construction site. Go into the sewer and follow it until the end to find the testing facility. For this puzzle, swap the charge from the blue power cores to the blinking red power cores and vice versa. The faster they're blinking, the less power they have. Keep all power cores alive for 60 seconds and activate the switch again to unlock the room with the power upgrade point. Arcade machine To use this arcade machine, your Central has to be at least zone level 4. Go east from the Patterned Factory to find the Urban Fresh Mart and get the second-highest score on the parkour challenge to get this power upgrade point. Table graphics: Johnny Yu/Polygon | Source images: Remedy Entertainment via Polygon West Incursion Zone power upgrade point locations in Control Resonant There are four power upgrade points in the West Incursion Zone, and three out of four require the Shift traversal ability, which can be unlocked in the Parking Garage fault. Location Map Description House of Mirrors Head inside the House of Mirrors to find a power upgrade point in the southern corner. Test Facility Broadway Use Shift to reach the sewer entrance on the second southeasternmost road. Follow it to the end, swap each item into a soda dispenser, and place them into the yellow squares to solve the puzzle. Go into the unlocked room to get the power upgrade point. West Supply Route Station Go to the southeast corner of the West Incursion Zone, and go into the subway station leading to Downtown. Follow the left tracks, use Shift to climb up the wall, and follow the path until you find the power upgrade point. Arcade machine To use this arcade machine, your West Incursion Zone must be at least zone level 3. It can be found in the Atlantis Cafe just east of the Empire Avenue fast travel door. For the last two power upgrades, you'll need to progress further into the main story quest before you can retrieve them. Location Map Description Testing Facility Pearl Head to the southern point of the Evacuation Zone, where you'll find the entrance to a sewer. Follow the path to the end, and solve the puzzle inside by turning every item into a soda dispenser and placing them into the yellow squares. Arcade machine To use this arcade machine, your Evacuation Zone must be at least zone level 6. You also need to get the level 2 security keycard, which you'll get during the "Evacuation Procedures" quest. The arcade machine can be found in the room that requires the level 2 security keycard on the ground floor of the Evac Building. Landromat path to sinkhole Progress to the "Recursions and Iterations" main story quest to unlock the laundromat path to sinkhole. Go inside the building to find the power upgrade point on the left side of the room. Bottom of sinkhole During the "Recursions and Iterations" main story quest, drop to the bottom of the sinkhole, where you'll find a power upgrade point in the southern corner. Location Map Description Security checkpoint Make your way to the southwest corner of The Park, where you'll find an elevator into a security checkpoint covered in mold. Use the elevator to go inside, and follow the path to find a power upgrade point. Arcade machine This arcade machine requires The Park to be at least zone level 4. Head to the northern section of The Park and make your way over to the building just northeast of the power cores. Go to the east side of the building, and burn the moldy door. Go inside to find the arcade machine. Get the second-highest high score to get a power upgrade point. Location Map Description Across the chasm Progress in the "Recursion and Iterations" main story quest until you ride the cable car.
