Police shared a picture of the smashed-up Ferrari 296 after it collided with traffic on the M602 in Salford. The red £250,000 vehicle skidded out of control during a downpour, leaving its bonnet and electrics wrecked and front wheels badly damaged. Its driver survived the crash unharmed, police confirmed. Greater Manchester Police warned drivers to take extra care in wet conditions. The force said in a statement: ‘Unfortunately there’s one less Ferrari 296 in the world this morning after the driver of this one lost control in the wet on the M602 in Salford. New cars sell from up to £250,000, with some high spec models costing as much as £329,000. After a long dry summer, much of the country entered a wet spell over the Bank Holiday weekend. Heavy showers and thundery weather spread across north and west England on Sunday. Bank Holiday Monday was set to be a drier day for most, with temperatures staying around the low 20s.
