£200k Ferrari is left a mangled wreck after driver loses control on major motorway

A FERRARI supercar has been ruined after the driver lost control in wet weather on a major motorway. The Ferrari 296, which can fetch up to £260k, was wrecked this morning leaving the car’s bonnet totally smashed up. Officers from Greater Manchester Police said: “Unfortunately there’s one less Ferrari 296 in the world this morning after the driver of this one lost control in the wet on the M602 in Salford. “No injuries luckily but please drive to the conditions for everyone’s sake.” The incident comes as cops have cracked down on supercars driving dangerously on British streets. In a recent bust, Met police officers seized a £650,000 orange Lamborghini Revuelto, a £350,000 Ferrari and a £3.7million open-top Ferrari Monza. Supercars are often picked up by cops for suspected problems with their ­driving licence, speeding claims, alleged handling of stolen goods and not being properly insured. In Essex, a convoy of thirteen supercars worth over £2.5m was seized after driving ‘at excessive speed & undertaking’ on the M11. The high performance motors included seven Lamborghinis, four Audi R8s, a Ferrari, and a Porsche which were all impounded.
