A recent study highlights the rarity of "porta giratória" careers, where professionals move fluidly between the public and private sectors. Conducted by the Movimento Pessoas à Frente with the Ipea and support from the Fundação Lemann, the research reveals that such transitions are uncommon. This finding is significant as it sheds light on the potential barriers to public officials leveraging private sector experience to inform policymaking and vice versa, underscoring the need for more cross-sector mobility to foster innovation and better governance.
