Popular children’s item sold in ASDA is urgently recalled in UK over ‘choking risk’

According to the recall notice, the item creates a high risk of choking because “the small part (the orange steam dome) may easily detach from the top of the train”. The small part of the toy poses a “choking risk to young children”, particularly to infants under 36 months, “who have a natural tendency to explore objects by placing them in their mouths”. The item has been recalled as it does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. The product is described as a “multicoloured battery power train toy” and was sold between August 2024 to February 2026. The barcode number of the item is 5063089308547. Anyone who owns the toy has been advised to cease using the item immediately and ensure it is kept out of reach of young children. Asda has issued a recall of the product, and consumers can return the product to their nearest Asda store to receive a refund.
