Pooja Hegde recreates Butta Bomma magic at New York India Day Parade, video viral

Actor Pooja Hegde attended the India Day Parade in New York as the Guest of Honour on Sunday, August 16. The actor joined the celebrations marking India's Independence Day and was seen interacting with the Indian diaspora during the event. A video of Pooja grooving to her popular song Butta Bomma has now gone viral on social media.In the video, Pooja can be seen dancing to Butta Bomma as the parade makes its way through the streets of New York. The song, composed by S Thaman and sung by Armaan Malik and Sri Krishna, featured Pooja alongside Allu Arjun in the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The song became a major chartbuster, and its hook-step went viral across social media. It currently has 947 million views on YouTube.Calling her appearance at the parade "truly an honour and a matter of immense pride", Pooja said there was "something incredibly surreal about seeing the streets of New York come alive with so many Indians, proudly celebrating our country and everything that connects us to home."The actor also thanked the Federation of Indian Associations for choosing her for the role. She said, "Thank you to the Federation of Indian Associations for the honour and a beautifully organised event along with the officials of New York. To be there, doing this with you all is a privilege I don’t take lightly. Gratitude for this moment that I’ll carry with me for a long time. Jai Hind." The India Day Parade is described as the world's largest public celebration of India's Independence Day involving the Indian diaspora overseas. Pooja also shared pictures from the event on social media, including photographs of herself smiling and holding the national flag aloft.
