Buffalo travels to Houston to face the Texans on Sunday, September 13, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET on CBS.Both teams enter 2026 with legitimate AFC expectations, but they also have some pretty big questions to answer immediately. Josh Allen gets another shot at a Houston defense that has given him problems, while C.J. Stroud enters a pivotal season trying to get the Texans’ offense back to the level of its defense.Polymarket promo code ALCOM detailsPolymarket promo detailsInformationPromo codeALCOMWelcome offerDeposit $10, receive a $20 trading bonusAvailable states49 states, Washington, D.C. and eligible territoriesLast verifiedSeptember 13, 2026The current Polymarket promo code ALCOM gives eligible new users $20 in bonus funds after an initial deposit of at least $10. Hunter finished last season with 15 sacks, while Anderson added 12. The Texans also intercepted 19 passes as a team and allowed opponents only 4.7 yards per offensive play. That front has also been a real problem for Buffalo. Houston has beaten the Bills in each of the last two meetings, and the Texans sacked Allen eight times in last year’s matchup. Allen himself acknowledged this week that Buffalo needs to be much cleaner against a defense that got after the Bills a year ago. Houston has questions of its own offensively. Stroud enters Year 4 after throwing for 3,041 yards during the 2025 regular season, but the Texans spent the offseason trying to create more balance around him. Houston added David Montgomery and worked to improve an offensive line that has been a major talking point entering the year. Texans vs. Bills Polymarket totalMarketYES priceNO priceOver 44.5 total points50¢51¢Prices shown are from Polymarket on September 12 and can change before kickoff.Polymarket currently has the Over 44.5 contract essentially sitting at a coin flip, with YES around 50¢ and NO around 51¢. That is about as balanced as a market can get and makes the total much more interesting than simply trying to decide which team wins. The case for Under 44.5 pointsThere is an easy path to envision a slower game.Houston’s pass rush is built to create exactly the type of negative plays that can kill drives. Hunter and Anderson combined for 27 sacks last season, and the Texans have already shown that they can disrupt Allen without needing to turn every snap into an all-out blitz. Week 1 can also be messy offensively. Buffalo has a new head coach in Joe Brady and is breaking in some new pieces, while Houston is still trying to prove that its offensive improvements can translate against a real opponent. If both teams lean on the run, protect their quarterbacks and avoid unnecessary risk early, possessions can disappear pretty quickly. There is also the recent matchup history. Houston has repeatedly made Buffalo uncomfortable in this stadium, which gives the defensive side of the total some legitimate support. The case for Over 44.5 pointsThere is obviously another side to this.Allen is still one of the most explosive quarterbacks in football, and Buffalo added DJ Moore to an offense that already has James Cook, Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid. One or two broken plays can change the entire feel of this total.Houston also has plenty of offensive talent. Stroud has Nico Collins and a revamped supporting cast, while Montgomery gives the Texans another way to finish drives. If the offseason changes help Houston protect Stroud and stay out of obvious passing downs, there is enough talent on both sides for this game to open up quickly. A defensive turnover could also work against the Under case. Short fields and defensive scores can turn what looks like a slow game into a 24-21 type of matchup without either offense playing particularly well. That is what makes 44.5 interesting. The defensive personnel and Week 1 uncertainty create a clear path to a lower-scoring game, while Allen and Stroud give both teams enough quarterback talent to punish mistakes if things loosen up.Event contracts trading involves risk of substantial loss and is not suitable for all investors.
