Politico Plans Live Video Coverage of Midterm Elections

Politico isn’t leaving live video coverage of the midterm elections to the usual suspects. The political-news outlet will steam “Politico Elections Live” on Tuesday, November 3, beginning at 9 p.m., with five of its top journalists analyzing real-time results. The program will stream on Politico.com and the Politico app and also via YouTube. The panel features Politico “Playbook” co-authors Adam Wren, Dasha Burns and Will Steakin, alongside Jonathan Martin, the senior political columnist, and Alex Burns, the senior executive editor. The panelists will share more than race calls, drawing on the outlet’s reporting from around the nation, sharing what they are hearing from sources, and explaining to viewers what the results mean for the nation’s politics in weeks to come. “Election night is when Politico’s audience wants more than a scoreboard. Our reporters have spent this cycle in the states and in constant contact with the candidates and campaigns,” says Jonathan Greenberger, Politico’s global editor in chief, in a statement. “’Politico Elections Live’ puts our audience in the room with them as the results arrive, with a sharp read on what the night means now and for 2028.”The livestream will cap a cycle of midterm coverage that has seen Politico journalists travel across the country, relaying their findings in programming such as “On the Road” with Jonathan Martin, presented by Meta, and “The Conversation with Dasha Burns.” Both have visited swing states as part of their reporting. Politico has in recent months placed new emphasis on video podcasts in a bid to showcase its journalists, who often contribute to mainstream news outlets.
