Police officer shot, rushed to hospital as suburb locked down

A police officer has been shot while responding to a disturbance at a property on the Fraser Coast.Police attended a home in Yengarie, about three hours north of Brisbane, to conduct a welfare check about 5.45pm.Upon arrival, they attempted to engage with a man at the property before he shot an officer in the leg.The officer was transported to hospital in a stable condition.As of 9pm, police remain on the scene and are attempting to engage with the man.A Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) declared on Friday after remains in place. Residents within the exclusion zone have been asked to remain indoors, or avoid the area.From our partners
