Pokémon Winds & Waves is still more than a year away, but the Generation 10 games have already become some of the leakiest entries in the franchise's history. Details have circulated since well before their official reveal, with rumors touching everything from the sprawling island-based region and new Pokémon to the structure of the story and major changes to how players explore the world. One rumor in particular has continued to command attention: a new battle gimmick seemingly connected to the region's weather and natural forces. Although Game Freak has yet to formally explain Generation 10's signature mechanic, multiple leaks have repeatedly pointed in the same general direction, leaving fans waiting to see how much of the speculation proves accurate. Now, another alleged leak may provide the strongest indication yet that the long-rumored mechanic is real, while also offering an intriguing first glimpse at how players' Winds & Waves adventure could begin (via X). The latest Pokémon Winds & Waves leak may have finally put a proper name to Generation 10's mysterious new battle gimmick: Majinization. According to leaked text files shared by Centro LEAKS, the mechanic is activated using a device called the "Majinize Band," placing it firmly in the tradition of trainer-controlled mechanics like Mega Evolution, Dynamax, and Terastallization. More importantly, alleged dialogue from the game's introduction describes Majinization as unlocking "a new potential for Pokémon" and dedicates an entire Majinize Tour to learning about it. Exactly what happens when a Pokémon is Majinized remains unclear, however. Earlier leaks referred to a mechanic codenamed "Majin" connected to unusual weather effects, with leaked development material reportedly showing a distorted Pikachu surrounded by strange clouds. More recent rumors have described "Netsu Forms" or special weather forms, with some reports suggesting only select Pokémon receive visually distinct transformations. One compilation of the leaks also treats Majin and Netsu as different terminology for the same underlying mechanic. Taken together, the most logical interpretation is that Majinization temporarily powers up Pokémon during battle, potentially altering their appearance, stats, abilities, or type depending on environmental or weather conditions. The Majinize Band also suggests the transformation is deliberately triggered by the Trainer rather than occurring automatically whenever the weather changes. Online theories have gone considerably further, ranging from Pokémon being revived after fainting to Trainers somehow merging with their partners, but there currently isn't enough evidence to treat either idea as established. The introductory dialogue may reveal something equally important about the sheer scale of Winds & Waves as well. The unnamed region is described as consisting of around 100 islands, with Pokémon inhabiting its mountains, forests, skies, and seas. The script also references a culture stretching back 3,000 years before introducing the League, Legend, and Majinize Tours, suggesting players will be traveling extensively throughout the archipelago rather than exploring one continuous landmass. Exactly how large those islands are remains unknown, so 100 islands does not automatically guarantee the largest map in series history, but it certainly reinforces Game Freak's emphasis on exploration. None of these leaked details should be considered official until confirmed by official channels, however. Still, Majinization appearing directly within the alleged introductory dialogue, alongside the Majinize Band and its own dedicated storyline, provides some of the strongest evidence yet that the long-rumored mechanic will be a spotlight feature of the game when it launches. If these files are genuine, Winds & Waves could introduce not only one of Pokémon's strangest battle gimmicks, but one of its most ambitious regions to date.
