Pokemon Pocket's First Partner Pack Includes Mew Cards You'll Probably Never Get Published Oct 29, 2026, 9:26 AM EDT Josh Coulson is an editor at TheGamer covering breaking news on everything from colorful platformers to the latest Lego sets. Primarily a news writer since 2018, Josh has covered just about every major game from the past decade. Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company. Pokemon TCG Pocket’s third year has officially begun. Its Dual Fusion booster packs have been added to the game, as has its first-ever special pack, First Partners. The First Partners pack includes Pocket’s rarest cards yet, and due to the restrictions on how often you can open them, the majority of players will never add even one of the extremely rare cards to their collection, let alone all three. RGB Mew Are Now Pokemon Pocket's Rarest Cards The First Partners set only includes 30 cards, and all of the designs are based on real-life cards. The same full art cards that were a part of the Pokemon TCG 30th anniversary set, one for each of the 27 partner Pokemon across the first nine generations. The other three slots in the set are for the rare cards and are three variants of the RGB Mew. Also introduced to the real TCG via the anniversary expansion, the cards are so rare that when influencers who found them in pre-launch packs excitedly broadcast their findings, most accused them of lying and the cards being fake. Turns out they were real, incredibly rare, and now they are also the rarest cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket. The RGB Mew cards have a pull rate of just 0.05%. Not only does that make them even rarer than the rarest cards in the game before today - the gold Crown Rare cards - but with odds of one in 2000, they’re as likely, or unlikely, to show up as a God Pack. A God Pack is a booster pack filled with nothing but cards that have a one-star rarity or higher. Play The Odds And You'll Have All Three Cards In A Little Over A Century Via gamesradar.com Pocket’s First Partner packs work a little differently from regular boosters. The stamina to open them takes a full week to recharge instead of 12 hours, you don’t seem to be able to speed up that time using regular hourglasses, and there’s only one card per pack. That elevates the chances of finding one of these Mew cards from incredibly difficult to nigh on impossible. To put it into perspective, if you were to hit the odds on the nose and open 2,000 First Partner packs before you find your first RGB Mew, that means waiting 2,000 weeks to add it to your collection. That’s a little more than 38 years. To find all three, on average, you will need to open 6,000 packs. At a rate of one pack per week, you’re looking at finally completing your trio of Mew cards in 115 years, so by the year 2140, if you’re lucky. There’s yet another catch, though. You won’t be able to keep opening these packs every week for 115 years, 38 years, or even just one year. The First Partner booster is only going to be available for a limited time and will leave the game on December 26, 2026. That’s just nine weeks, so not only are you almost certainly not going to find a Mew, you’ll only get a third of the base cards too, and that’s only if you’re lucky enough to not pull a duplicate. The partner cards have a one-star rarity, which means you will be able to trade them and try to fill those gaps. Despite all of these wild stats and long odds suggesting it’ll take you half a lifetime to pull a Mew, you can go online and find people who have already found them, within hours of the First Partner booster being released. That’s because there are quite literally tens of millions of people opening these packs. Even with odds of one in 2,000 and cards most of us will never get, there are still going to be a lot of people out there who strike lucky and find one. Now, if anyone manages to get all three, or even just two, before time runs out on December 26, please let me know. I’d love to see the evidence.
