The ninth generation of Pokémon has almost come to an end with the first game in its tenth generation, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, expected to arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 some time in 2027. Until then, however, more recent entries, such as Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet are still welcoming in legions of fans and with another freebie up for grabs, there has never been a better time to play. First released back in 2022, Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet have received plenty of post-game content such their release, including post-game expansions, DLC, an expansion pass storyline, and much more. However, when it was first launched, the first games celebrating Pokémon's ninth generation were met with mixed reviews, with criticism for their technical problems. Those issues did not affect our very own Cody Gravelle, who awarded Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet a near perfect 9/10 in their review here at Screen Rant. They wrote: All things considered, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is a must-play adventure for everyone, even for those who have yet to take the first step on their own Pokémon journey. Time will tell how many of its ideas remain in the following iterations, but Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is a great proof of concept for how the games can evolve, and the future is exceptionally bright for the long-tenured creature collector. Now, four years on from launch, there is now another reason to return to the Paldea Region as players now have the chance to catch a rare Pokémon before it is gone forever. If you have not been playing Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet in recent years, you may have missed out on the chance to partake in 7-Star Tera Raids. Completing them will reward you with rare materials as you take on Pokémon bearing the Mightiest Mark. However, if you manage to conquer them with friends online, you will walk away with a plethora of materials. Now, until 5 November, the latest Tera Raid will see you go up against the Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon Hydreigon. The Poison Tera-Type Hydreigon with the Mightiest Mark is the third time that this specific Pokémon has been featured, but with the last event taking place in November 2025, this is the perfect opportunity to try again if you missed out on the opportunity. Not only that, but with Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves launching in the next year, it is safe to assume that this will be your final opportunity to beat and capture Hydreigon. If you want to make the most of these 7-Star Tera Raid before attention shifts to Winds & Waves, you will be pleased to hear that, once Hydreigon has left on 5 November, the next Mighty Pokémon will be Goodra, which players will be able to go head-to-head with from November 6–13. This is then followed by Kommo-o from November 13–20, Dragapult from November 20–27, and Baxcalibur from November 27–December 4. So, if you want to take advantage of these final opportunities in Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet, make sure to boot up your Switch, gather some friends, and get hunting before they are gone forever.
