Sign in to your ScreenRant account Released to mark the start of Pokémon's ninth generation, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet launched back in 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. Since receiving plenty of post-game DLC, the game took us to the Paldea Region and, unlike previous entries in the long-running Nintendo franchise, featured an open-world map. On top of the introduction of 120 brand-new Pokémon to the ever-growing roster, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet also welcomed new features, including time-displaced creatures known as Paradox Pokémon, as well as the Terastal phenomenon, allowing select Pokémon to receive 'Tera Types', unlocking new abilities and powerful damage boosts. It is this Terastal phenomenon that has continued to act as a selling point for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, especially as Game Freak has released regular post-game content centered around Tera Raids. In the cooperative battle mode, players can team up in groups of four to take down a powerful Pokémon within a strict time limit. By defeating the Pokémon, there is a 100% guaranteed chance of catching the raid boss using any Poké Ball you choose and not only that, but defeating any 7-Star Pokémon complete with the Mighty Mark will see limited-time rewards drop, which will help massively in standard play. With new Tera Raids taking place each month for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the latest is available globally from August 28th 2026 - September 3rd 2026. Marking the 92nd Tera Raid, the next Pokémon up for grabs is Kingambit with the Dark Tera type. The 7-Star raid boss will offer quite a challenge and can only be caught once per save file. As such, now is the perfect time to gather some friends and take part in the raid. However, in order to participate, you must have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News and have caught up with all post-game content. The Kingambit Tera Raid comes alongside Mass Outbreaks of Kingambit in Kitakami and Bisharp and Pawniard in Paldea, with all Pokémon listed more likely to spawn with the Charismatic Mark. However, if you are struggling with the latest Kingambit Tera Raid, you can head over to r/PokemonScarletViolet to find some useful tips and tricks. Unlike previous raids, many fans report that this one is a "nothingburger", so it should be easy to get your hands on the Dark Tera Type Kingambit and add them to your roster. Just remember that you only have until 3 September to do so. Happy hunting!
