Pokopia Playset Lets You Bring Withered Wasteland And Its Pokemon To Life Published Aug 28, 2026, 10:46 AM EDT Josh Coulson is an editor at TheGamer covering breaking news on everything from colorful platformers to the latest Lego sets. Primarily a news writer since 2018, Josh has covered just about every major game from the past decade. Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company. The Pokemon Company continues to capitalize on the massive popularity of Pokemon Pokopia as it has just revealed a new line of official toys that will be released starting this weekend. The headliner is a playset modeled after Withered Wasteland, the first area that you discover and are tasked with returning to its former glory in the popular Pokemon spinoff. Pokopia's Withered Wasteland Has Been Turned Into A Playset Takara Tomy The toys have been made in collaboration with Takara Tomy, a toymaker Pokemon has been working with for years. Showcased on the Takara Tomy website, the Withered Wasteland set includes a rebuilt Pokemon Center, veggie patches, a river running along its border, and even Leppa Berry trees that look like they drop fruit when you hit them, just like they do in the game. Since the set has only been confirmed for a Japanese release for now, it’s tricky to differentiate which of the Pokopia cast will be included with the base Withered Wasteland set. The only character that is confirmed to be included is the female version of the Transformed Ditto, who is pictured with it alongside the set’s 4,950 yen ($31) price. Takara Tomy She is far from the only Pokopia character to have been shown off as part of the playset’s reveal, however. Also pictured are the male version of Transformed Ditto, Peakychu, Mosslax, Professor Tangrowth, and Transformed Ditto versions of Lapras and Dragonite. Two of the most important Pokemon you befriend in Pokopia as they teach you how to surf and fly. Male Ditto, Peakychu, Dragonite, and Tangrowth appear to be releasing at the same time as the playset this weekend on August 29, and cost 715 yen ($4.50) each, while Lapras and Mosslax will be released on October 1. The site has already teased that more characters will be added to the collection in the future, with the likes of Sprigatito, Slowpoke, and Squirtle all pictured. Larger Standalone Pokopia Figures Have Also Been Revealed Takara Tomy The new line also includes three larger figures that come on their own platforms designed to be displayed separately. That other collection includes a yawning Peakychu, female Transformed Ditto running, and Ditto Lapras on a translucent blue platform to make it look like the Pokemon is surfing across the surface of Pokopia’s water. The larger figures cost 1760 yen ($11) each. As is often the case with Pokemon merch, there is no indication yet that these toys will ever be officially sold outside of Japan. However, Meccha Japan has already swooped in to save the day. It will cost extra due to the third-party nature and shipping costs involved, but everything in the Takara Tomy Pokopia collection is already available to pre-order through the Meccha Japan site.
