Pokemon Opens Pre-Orders For Its $645 Sideshow Collectibles Gengar Diorama

Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company. Pokemon has a wide collection of high-end statues available through Sideshow Collectibles depicting some of its most popular creations. The newest addition to its Sideshow collection not only includes one of the most popular Pokemon around, but it focuses on Ghost-types, just in time for the spookiest day of the year. Sideshow Adds A Gengar Diorama To Its Pokemon Collection The Pokemon Company/Sideshow Collectibles The new diorama carries Gengar’s name, but it actually features the popular Pokemon’s entire evolutionary line. Gengar is at the center of the diorama’s design, halfway up its petrified tree with a Shadow Ball in each hand. Floating above Gengar at the top of the tree is Gastly, and underneath them, hovering around the tree’s roots surrounded by an eerie mist, is Haunter. The Gengar diorama is made entirely out of polystone and stands at 14.5 inches tall, with a base that’s 9.19 inches wide, so now you know exactly how much space you need to make for it on your shelf. It’s not how much room that the statue will take up that’s going to be the sticking point for Pokemon fans when it comes to adding this stunning statue to their collection though - it’s the price. Gengar's New Diorama Costs Almost As Much As Pokemon's Priciest Lego Set The Pokemon Company/Sideshow Collectibles Sideshow is an industry leader when it comes to video game and anime collectibles. This is also an officially licensed Pokemon product, and a big one. When you combine all of those factors, turns out you end up with a Gengar statue that’s going to cost you $645 if you want one of your own. That’s quite a bit more than the already pricy life-size Pikachu and Eevee statues previously announced by Sideshow, but slightly less than the Charizard and Snorlax dioramas that are a part of its Pokemon collection. It’s almost exactly the same price as the $649.99 Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise Lego set, the price of which didn’t prevent it from selling out almost immediately. Don’t panic, it has been restocked. If you have $650 of Pokemon spending money burning a hole in your pocket, then you have a decision to make. You can either buy an elaborate Pokemon Lego set, or a stunning Gengar diorama. Worth considering that while the Lego set could potentially be in your home by the end of the day, the Gengar diorama will not. Pre-orders are now open at Sideshow, but the statues won’t start shipping until November 2027. That’s two Halloweens away. Who knows if I’ll even still like Gengar by then. Who am I kidding? I’ll always love Gengar.
