It would be a must-have for any Pokemon fan if it weren’t for the price, with pre-orders opening for an eye-watering $399.99. Pokemon Reveals A Very Special 24-Movie Collector's Case Amazon The 24-movie collection is, clearly, incredibly special. Although there is no official list of which movies are included yet, it appears to cover Pokemon’s entire animated movie history. That’s everything from 1998’s Pokemon: The First Movie to 2020’s Pokemon The Movie: Secrets of the Jungle. It doesn’t appear to include the live-action Detective Pikachu movie. All of those movies are on Blu-rays, although there are only 16 discs, which means some of those discs will include two films instead of one. I’m assuming Pokemon The Movie: Black - Victini and Reshiram, and Pokemon The Movie: White - Victini and Zekrom will be one of the pairs that shares a disc. The biggest selling point of the collection is the packaging the movies come in. Not only are the films secured in sleeves that appear to be adorned with rather beautiful artwork, but they are then all packed away in a Poke Ball collector case. The case is almost 12 inches tall and opens up like a Poke Ball. The movies slot neatly inside and are bound together by a bigger Pikachu sleeve that holds them together. Again, there is no official description for this product yet, so we don’t know the full rundown of what’s included. However, in addition to the 24 movies inside a big Poke Ball, we can discern from the first official images that it also comes with an artbook filled with artwork from the movies along with additional info about each one. Early reactions to the price have been largely negative, with fans appreciating that the collection is pretty special, but still questioning whether it’s worth that much. Lofty price aside, this is the perfect time to release a collection like this for a few reasons. Not only is it Pokemon’s 30th anniversary, but after releasing at least one movie every year from 1998 to 2020, Pokemon hasn’t released a single film for six years.
