Sign in to your ScreenRant account Pokémon is celebrating its very exciting 30th anniversary as a franchise this year, with plenty of new releases and announcements to mark the occasion and keep their millions of fans happy. The headline act was obviously confirmation of the first game of the tenth generation, with Winds and Waves set to launch in 2027, on an as yet unconfirmed date. We don't know a whole lot about what that game is going to look like just yet, beyond the beautiful archipelago vistas and the admittedly cute starter 'mons. While we wait for more on that, there's plenty more exciting stuff going on around the franchise, including a HeartGold and SoulSilver release that should appeal to those who grew up playing it. Over on the official Pokemon Center website, you should be able to find the product listing for the latest set of package pins, which are modeled on the iconic designs of the Japanese versions of HeartGold and SoulSilver. Coming as a pair, they really are a very sweet reference to an important part of gaming history. They're also priced very reasonably, at just $10 for the set, so you won't need to move heaven and earth to get some for yourselves. Happily, for those who want to stop scalpers in their tracks, you can only buy one of each set per customer, which should mean there shouldn't be too much in the way of stock issues. You should also be aware that the drop is only currently going ahead in Japan, so if you're in the West and want to add them to your collection, you will need to pay a third party shipping company to get it home. The sets are available to purchase right now, and if HeartGold and SoulSilver are not your favorites, there are plenty of other options on the table. The pin collections range from the original 1996 releases of Red and Green (as they were in Japan), all the way up to to the recent Nintendo Switch box art for Pokémon Legends Z-A. It'll be worth keeping an eye on Pokémon more generally this year, as there will likely be more unique releases to mark the occasion, beyond the extensive offering we have already had. Other than that, we just have to sit tight and wait to hear more about Winds and Waves, with a full reveal on that expected later this year.
