The Pokemon Center has started selling music box dioramas and framed maps for all nine of the franchise’s regions, but you’re going to have a tough time getting your hands on them. For as long as Pokemon has been around, it’s had some of the best merchandise in gaming. Not even counting the unbelievable amount of gorgeous and sought-after cards for the TCG, there are skateboard decks, Lego sets, plushes, golden figures, playsets, and oh so much more. Just look at the branded cans of soup, if you somehow need more proof. Since there's clearly no shortage of Pokemon goods in the world already, you’d think that there’s not much left that could possibly leave an impression. Well, you might want to change that tune, as the Pokemon Center has just revealed an incredible new collection of dioramas and framed maps that are going to leave you cursing if you’re not in Japan. Pokemon Music Box Dioramas Are Some Of Its Best Merch Yet They’re Japan Exclusive For Now, Though As pointed out by Dexerto, the official Japanese Pokemon site recently shared a blog post detailing a new collection that’s being added to the online store on November 12. The collection focuses on the “evolution of the Pokemon series” and includes music box dioramas representing locations from each region in the series, framed maps, and paper crafts. Pokemon is no stranger to dioramas, but these music boxes are absolutely gorgeous, featuring nicely crafted replicas of areas like Route 1 alongside acrylic or 3D figures of the respective generation’s starter Pokemon and, of course, Pikachu. It’s really just the cherry on top that they also serve as a music box. Image provided by the Pokemon Center Online store. Those dioramas are selling for 12,100 yen, which equates to around $76, so they’re not exactly cheap, but they are very cool. The framed maps are equally gorgeous and going for around $105, while the paper crafts are just over $24. Of course, there’s a big catch to all of this, as the items are all exclusive to the Japanese Pokemon Center Online store. Like with all Pokemon Center Online merchandise, there’s a chance that we see it come to other parts of the world later down the line. Until then, though, you’re either going to have to figure out a workaround or dare to look into the depths of reselling and scalpers. That’s just another day ending in Y for Pokemon fans, though.
