Sign in to your TheGamer account Pokemon has been celebrating its 30th anniversary in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways, but it may have just rolled out the one thing to mark the occasion that’s going to take up the most of my time. A new website that shines a spotlight on the Pokemon TCG that lets you build a curated collection based on your favorite Pokemon. Everyone's Pokemon Card Universe The Pokemon Company Dubbed Everyone’s Pokemon Card Universe, the site presents fans with a series of options through which they can piece together an interactive collection of their favorite Pokemon cards. The site is working with a database of more than 25,000 real-life card designs, which means if you have a favorite, it is almost certainly in there. When you click “create a universe” on the site’s homepage, you are presented with four options: atmosphere, your favorite, cards, or a deck. Once you have picked one of those options, you will then be able to select up to ten cards, Pokemon, decks, or vibes to establish a base on which your curated TCG universe will be built. Once you have filled in as many of the ten options as you like, you then click "create a universe", and an interactive collection of real cards featuring your chosen Pokemon will appear. Or cards based on the vibes you selected, cards you added, or decks you chose to pull from. A short cinematic will play that shows your cards starting to appear, and once that’s done, all of the cards in your universe will just kind of drift around, like planets in space. You can share your universe with other Pokemon fans, or you can build a new one using a new category from the menu in the top right. Finding Your Favorite Cards And Pokemon Can Be Tricky The Pokemon Company There are some issues with the site, especially if you don’t speak Japanese. There doesn’t appear to be an officially translated version of the site yet. That’s not an issue for the most part, but it does throw up a roadblock when searching for certain Pokemon and, in particular, certain cards. The Pokemon search function is split into regions, which makes whoever you’re searching for relatively easy to find. The card option is not, and searching for cards using the Pokemon’s English names doesn’t seem to work. There also doesn't appear to be an option to fill your universe with just the cards you want. Hopefully there are plans to roll out the site in English and other languages so that more Pokemon fans can make the most of all its features and build their own TCG universe. It might not be something we’re all still using a year from now - it might even only be available for a limited time - but it’s a cool feature to celebrate three decades of Pokemon, and to perhaps discover card designs featuring your favorite Pokemon that you didn’t know existed.
