"Thank you very much for your continued support of the Pokémon series," the announcement reads (via machine translation). "We would like to inform you that the Pokémon Bank service will be discontinued at 12:00 on Friday, 26 February 2027. Consequently, the feature allowing you to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home will also be discontinued on the same day. If you wish to transfer Pokémon stored in Pokémon Bank, please send them to Pokémon Home before the Pokémon Bank service ends." PokéMile Points earned via Bank cannot be transferred to Home. Nintendo also announced that with the closure of Pokémon Bank, it will be increasing the storage capacity for Pokémon Home premium subscribers to 9,000 in October. How To Move Pokémon From Bank To Home Pokémon Home serves the same function as Bank for Nintendo Switch and mobile users, and it's fairly easy to transfer your 'mons between the two. That's because Nintendo rolled out a Bank update in 2020 that added an option for just that. The main menu now features a new transfer prompt which allows you to send several boxes of your choosing directly to your Home storage. All you need is a valid moving key, which can be found by selecting 'move' and 'begin move' on the Home main menu. Once you're ready, a temporary moving key will be generated. You have three minutes to enter this on the 3DS, and if done correctly, a message will appear on the Switch telling you that the process has begun. Moving doesn't take long, but you will be locked out of the Home and Bank apps until it has finished. You can then save your progress. Pokémon Bank users have just five months to move their collection over. However, with the closure of Bank, newly acquired 'mons from the DS games cannot be transferred after February 2027.
