INQUIRER FILES SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The Ilocos Regional Police’s campaign against illegal drugs led to the confiscation of P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu and marijuana plants, during crime suppression operations conducted from September 1-7. A police report showed that it conducted 25 operations during which they arrested 24 suspects in possession of 411.48 grams of suspected shabu, 2,740 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,400 marijuana seedlings, and 30 grams of dried marijuana leaves. The police’s 20 operations against illegal gambling also led to the arrest of 20 suspects and the confiscation of bet money amounting to P33,457.00. The drive against loose firearms likewise accounted for nine weapons, consisting of six surrendered and three deposited firearms. “Our weekly accomplishments reflect the police’s commitment to responsive and effective law enforcement.
