PNP ACG warns vs online bomb threats targeting schools

File photo MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) issued a warning against individuals posting online bomb threats targeting schools. “This isn’t an ordinary joke because it affects our daily operations, businesses, and educational activities. It hampers a lot of activities,” ACG Director Maj. Gen. Wilson Aseuta said in an interview at Camp Crame on Wednesday. “We’re monitoring it closely. We have a way of verifying and validating who is posting these bomb jokes. So, if we catch you, I’m sorry, but you will be charged and jailed,” he added. According to Police Regional Office Central Luzon Director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, the arrested teenager made the purported threat as a “trip” or gimmick.
