Its design incorporates elements of Andhra Pradesh’s cultural heritage, with the terminal roof inspired by traditional Chuttilu cottages and the landscapes of the Araku Valley.After inaugurating the terminal building, PM Modi inspected the facility along with Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. During his visit, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects worth nearly Rs 18,000 crore across sectors including semiconductors, power transmission and highways.After the inauguration, PM Modi will travel to the public meeting venue, where over 13,500 tribal women and students welcomed him with a Dhimsa dance performance.During his visit, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Rs 460 crore ASIP Semiconductor Project in Visakhapatnam, being developed by ASIP Technologies Pvt Ltd in partnership with APACT, Republic of Korea.The project is Andhra Pradesh’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility approved under the India Semiconductor Mission and is expected to produce around 96 million chips annually while supporting the development of a semiconductor ecosystem in the region.In the power sector, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Transmission System for integration of the Kurnool-IV Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase-I (4.5 GW), being implemented by POWERGRID at an estimated cost of Rs 5,550 crore.He will also inaugurate transmission systems linked to the Kurnool Wind Energy Zone and Solar Energy Zone, along with solar energy transmission schemes in Ananthapuram and Kurnool, involving investments of thousands of crores.The Prime Minister will also dedicate and launch National Highway projects worth over Rs 1,880 crore, including a four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway stretch from Recherla to Guruvaygudem on NH-365 BG and a high-level bridge at Lingasamudram on the Penchalakona-Yerpedu section of NH-565.- EndsPublished By: India Today Web Desk Published On: Aug 1, 2026 11:45 IST
