Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi condemned “criminal negligence” and demanded severe punishment for those responsible after a Russian strike on an enterprise in the Kyiv region triggered massive secondary detonations, resulting in casualties and mass evacuations. And all the guilty, without exception, must be severely punished so that such situations do not happen again,” Koretskyi wrote on Telegram. He added that the Kyiv-Chop highway was temporarily closed to facilitate urgent rescue and evacuation measures, demanding an “immediate and strict reaction” from law enforcement. The ongoing fire and detonations into Saturday, Aug. 29, forced authorities to evacuate more than 200 people, including children. Kyiv Regional Military Administration Head Tymur Tkachenko confirmed that the incident has caused fatalities and injuries, though the exact number of victims is still being determined. Official updates indicate that Friday’s earlier strikes across the Fastiv, Boryspil, Vyshhorod, Brovary, and Bucha districts left at least nine people injured and damaged dozens of warehouses, homes, and vehicles.
