Sign in to your ScreenRant account It's no secret that prices in just about every facet of life are seemingly perpetually going upwards right now, regardless of who you are or what you usually buy. The world of video games is no exception, unfortunately, and regardless of whether you're an Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo or PC gamer, you will have been spending more money over the last few years. That hasn't showed too many signs of slowing down, and we have actually seen price increases for many of the subscription services associated with those major consoles in recent months. Now, though, there's finally some good news, as Sony gives players the chance to sign up for PlayStation Plus at a considerably reduced rate. Over on Reddit, one user shared a post claiming that they had been offered a yearly subscription to PlayStation Plus at a reduction of 25%, but only after they turned off auto-renewal in their account settings. Those kinds of personalized offers certainly aren't a new thing, and there were others in the responses who received similar messages when canceling or turning off auto-renew. "I got a 20% offer a couple weeks ago after not being subbed for about 2 months now. Sometimes it just happens, that offer was about a month after my subscription lapsed, but I never got an offer when my sub first ended," one comment read in response. While another added, "You’re a legend! Just renewed my previously canceled subscription as well (it was due to expire later this month lol). Went into PS App & PS+ & sure enough 25% off to renew. I renewed it to Nov 2027 & after it renewed, I straight away canceled my auto-renewal subscription again & selected ‘I want to save more money’ as a reason." Another was also successful, saying, "I had already turned off auto-renew, so I resubscribed and canceled that and got the offer. CLAIM YOUR PLAYSTATION PLUS OFFER. Save 25% when you buy another 12 months." It's nice to know that with the global economy as it currently is, there are some ways that the thrifty can still save money. It's worth noting, though, that there were others in the comments who tried it out for themselves and didn't manage to get an offer to pop up, so there is probably a certain amount of RNG involved based on your history with PlayStation Plus. At the same time, this doesn't appear to be an offer that's tied to Black Friday in any way, and it's likely designed as an automated incentive to keep those on board who might otherwise be on the verge of leaving. As such, it might be a better option to wait for the big sales at the end of November to see what they have in store for PlayStation or whatever console you play on. It's usually the time of year where the biggest reductions are available across the board, on both games and wider services, so it's probably a safe bet that you'll be able to get something good if you're looking to sign-up or renew.
