PlayStation Plus subscribers are used to the revolving door of titles that flood their feeds and fill their libraries. It has become ritualistic at this point to grind away at familiar favorites while grabbing new additions and departing games as and when they float by your peripheral vision. Indeed, so many games come and go at this point that one would be forgiven for overlooking certain titles either because they don't immediately appeal or because you've told yourself you'll play them later and then forgotten all about your promise. Fortunately, whenever something is leaving PlayStation Plus, you can be sure that its departure will be covered extensively, so much so that we practically throw it a leaving party. However, it's important to spotlight the games leaving PlayStation Plus, if only to give the aforementioned people who've long forgotten about their existence the chance to grab them before they're gone potentially forever. In this instance, they are two of the greatest open-world games ever made, and thus titles you really won't want to miss out on. Grand Theft Auto 5 Is Worth Playing On PS Plus Rockstar Games As PlayStation Plus' October games start rolling in, fans can begin to expect a handful to be phased out. Included among the ranks of these prestigious titles is Grand Theft Auto 5, the legendary open-world game by Rockstar that, despite being over a decade old, proved so popular that its sequel is eyeing up an unprecedented level of sales. Naturally, most people will likely have played GTA 5 by now, but if you're one of the few who has somehow skipped it, now is absolutely your chance. Sporting a vast urban sandbox in which to wreak havoc and a compelling heist-laden narrative at its heart, GTA 5 is an endlessly creative, stunning, and effortlessly fun open-world title that has absolutely earned its reputation as one of the best open-world games of all time and then some. Its story is one of Rockstar's best, the central trio proving to be some of the most memorable characters in Grand Theft Auto's history, and its world is Rockstar's most ambitious. Of course, with Grand Theft Auto 6 releasing in November, it makes sense that GTA 5 would be removed from PlayStation Plus. It will be departing the service on November 17, just two days before its sequel drops. So, you should absolutely give this one a whirl before it disappears, if only to roam around the streets of Los Santos one more time before leaving the game behind for its bigger and bolder sequel. Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Still Amazing All These Years Later If one Rockstar title wasn't enough for you, then Red Dead Redemption 2 is also leaving PlayStation Plus on November 17. This triumphant open-world masterpiece is easily Rockstar's greatest game to date, a magnum opus in every conceivable way and a clear illustration of how the studio has managed to rope so many onto the GTA 6 hype train. From its gritty, heartfelt, tear-jerking, and cinematic narrative to its peaceful, roleplay-centric open-world, RDR2 truly does have it all. Improving significantly on its predecessor while offering newcomers a standalone story, Red Dead Redemption 2 holds up even after eight years. Its stunning visuals are some of the best in the business, showcasing just how powerful the PS4 truly was, and its gameplay is as varied and robust as one could hope for. RDR2's ambitions foretell the sheer level of quality and innovation GTA 6 will strive for while somehow managing not to be overshadowed by its successor. Red Dead Redemption 2, more than any game leaving PlayStation Plus over the next few weeks, is well worth playing.
