Player prices leaked ahead of Dream Team return for 2026/27 season — including Calafiori, Wirtz and Haaland!

DREAM TEAM is almost ready to return for the 2026/27 season! To whet your appetite for the latest edition of our beloved fantasy game, we’re leaking a handful of player prices ahead of launch. The Italy international cost the North Londoners an eye-watering £100million but he’ll take up just 7% of your initial £50million budget in Dream Team. Spurs narrowly avoided relegation last season but Roberto De Zerbi has been backed heavily this summer with Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson among the other new recruits. It’s worth noting that Tonali and company will not have European commitments this season. Reece James (£4m) It will be fascinating to see how Chelsea’s captain fits into Xabi Alonso’s system. James is categorised as a defender in Dream Team this season once again but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he got minutes in midfield, as he has done in recent campaigns. Most read in Football The Spanish head coach has previously implemented a 3-4-3 formation and James could feasibly slot in as the right-sided centre-back, at wing-back, or alongside Moises Caicedo in the middle of the park. James ranked second among defenders for assists in 2025/26 with nine in all competitions. James is capable of fulfilling several roles in Alonso’s preferred formation Credit: Alamy Senne Lammens (£4m) Manchester United assets will be considerably more popular this season after their resurgence in the second half of 2025/26. The Red Devils looked set for a bottom-half finish when Ruben Amorim was in the dugout but surged to third under Michael Carrick’s guidance and will therefore return to the Champions League this coming campaign. The Belgian goalkeeper contributed to the upturn in form with a string of consistent showings and may prove to be a smart selection. Granted, Lammens was guilty of a costly mistake against Spain in the World Cup quarter-final but Dream Team bosses should not judge him on that moment alone — his club performances give a better indication of his viability. Gaffers will have to wait a little longer to see how his price compares to the likes of David Raya and Gigi Donnarumma. Jeremy Doku (£5m) Manchester City’s tricky winger finished last season as a must-have player amid a string of electric performances. Doku scored eight goals and provided 16 assists but even that outstanding return doesn’t tell the full story. He ranked first overall for bonus points with 76 to his name, a consequence of his unmatched dribbling ability. We’re in a post-Pep world when it comes to Man City and it remains to be seen which players are among the first on Enzo Maresca’s teamsheet but it would be a surprise if Doku was anything other than a regular starter. A cheat code when at his best Credit: Getty Ollie Watkins (£5m) Aston Villa’s primary striker has scored between 15-20 league goals in each of the last four seasons. A proven Premier League performer, Watkins is exactly the kind of reliable asset who tends to serve Dream Team bosses well as the season starts to take shape. The Villains essentially qualified for the Champions League twice over in 2025/26 by finishing fourth and winning the Europa League. Watkins has once again been linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer but he deserves to be viewed as a strong option as things stand. Riccardo Calafiori (£4.5m) Arsenal-heavy defences have delivered plentiful points in recent years but the big names come at a cost. We’re not giving much away by confirming the Gunners’ adaptable Italian is among the most expensive players in his position but he’s not the outright most expensive defender in the game ahead of Gameweek 1. Mikel Arteta’s side have conceded the fewest goals in each of the last three Premier League campaigns and are bookies’ favourites to retain their crown this term. A useful contributor in attack, Calafiori is virtually guaranteed a steady stream of clean sheets as long as he’s fit and available. Arsenal defenders are usually worth the investment Credit: Getty Bryan Mbeumo (£4.5m) The Cameroon international blew hot and cold during his first season in Manchester United colours but a return of 12 goals from 34 appearances is not to be sniffed at. In fact, the 26-year-old has scored 40 league goals across the last three campaigns, an impressive tally for a player categorised as a midfielder. The question is: if Mbeumo is £4.5m then how much is Bruno Fernandes? Bart Verbruggen (£4m) Brighton players will be significantly more popular this season due to Conference League commitments, assuming they win their play-off. Only Arsenal and Manchester City conceded fewer league goals than the Seagulls in 2025/26 and so their No1 should be considered a strong selection, as reflected by his relatively lofty price. Verbruggen is still a developing goalkeeper but experienced and consistent enough to be first choice for Netherlands at 23 years old. The rumour mill suggests some big clubs are interested but he’s an Amex resident for now and an appealing option between the sticks a rung below the premium options. A smart option… if he stays Credit: Getty Florian Wirtz (£5m) The German playmaker was among the most popular players in the game ahead of Gameweek 1 last season but gaffers quickly looked elsewhere after a slow start to life at Anfield. Wirtz registered 16 goal involvements in all competitions by the end of the campaign, a respectable return, but even his biggest admirers admit that he fell short of expectations. His talent is unquestionable and a year of English football under his belt should stand him in good stead for the campaign ahead. Furthermore, new boss Andoni Iraola is likely to get a better tune out of Wirtz than Arne Slot, who lacked tactical nous last term. It will be interesting to see how many gaffers take a punt on the 23-year-old for the Reds’ opener against Newcastle. Erling Haaland (£8.5m) The big one. Manchester City’s No9 amassed 448 points last season, when no other striker mustered a triple century, to finish top of the rankings by a wide margin. Haaland plundered 38 goals in all comps, including 27 in the league to claim his third Premier League Golden Boot in just his fourth season on these shores. A goal-laden World Cup campaign with Norway has enhanced his reputation further and there can be no doubt that he is among the very best goalscorers in world football.
